27 March 2025 –The 31st Hog Convention and Trade Exhibits is focusing on collaboration and innovation to ensure the future success of the pork industry.
Pork producers, industry professionals, and innovators are gathering at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City from March 27 to March 29 for the highly anticipated 31st HogCon, which provides a unique platform for attendees to connect, learn, and collaborate on the evolving challenges and opportunities in the pork industry.
This year’s theme, “Pork Producers: Rising to Meet Tomorrow’s Demands,” underscores the industry’s crucial role in addressing the pressing issues that are reshaping Philippine agriculture. With increasing pressures from swine diseases, market shifts, rising production costs, changing consumer preferences, and the undeniable impacts of climate change, the future of pork production demands proactive adaptation, technological innovation, and a unified approach across the sector.
With rising demands for sustainably produced food and a decreasing environmental footprint, the pork industry is tasked with meeting the expectations of both consumers and the planet.
“The pork industry is at a crucial crossroads. It’s not just about meeting the demand for pork; it’s about ensuring that the future of production is sustainable, efficient, and responsible,” said Pork Producers Federation of the Philippines, Inc. (ProPork).
Beyond technology and innovation, the theme also emphasizes the need for increased collaboration across the industry. Farmers, researchers, policymakers, and consumers must work together to build a resilient and sustainable future for the sector.
“This gathering is a unique opportunity to come together and share knowledge on how we can tackle these challenges effectively,” said Chester Warren Tan, Chair of the National Federation of Hog Farmers, Inc. (NFHFI).
The industry faces an ever-evolving set of challenges each year, and the focus of this year’s gathering is on how pork producers can rise to meet these demands through climate-smart strategies, technological advancements in animal health, genetics, and feed efficiency. The convention highlighted the importance of future-proofing the pork sector to ensure sustainability, environmental stewardship, and long-term productivity.
The two federations noted that the event brings together a diverse group of individuals to discuss the future of the pork industry, adding that the gathering is more than just an exhibition; it’s a chance to work together and create actionable solutions that will ensure the long-term success of the industry.
The annual event, jointly organized by NFHFI and ProPork offers seminars on various operational, managerial, and technical know-hows while the trade exhibits showcase the latest in services and technologies to advance the pork industry toward better efficiency and productivity.
